Public EOI - Design Consultant/Architect for Regional Aquatic, Arts and Leisure Centre

⁠⁠⁠This Request for Expressions of Interest seeks submissions from suitably qualified organisations or consortium, with an appropriate array of skills and a demonstrated history of designing and developing contemporary public spaces, specialising in arts and/or aquatic facilities.
From the EOI process a small pool of applicants will be invited to participate in a limited Tender process.

The successful tender will undertake specialist pre-construction activities and prepare construction designs and specifications for the proposed Batemans Bay Regional Aquatic, Arts and Leisure Centre to be located at the Mackay Park Precinct, Batemans Bay for Eurobodalla Shire Council.

The deliverables from this engagement will advance the project from a concept that has been endorsed by Council for the purpose of seeking grant funding (see sections 1.1.2 and 1.1.4 within the EOI) to a detailed design ready for construction once the outcomes of the grant funding applications is known.

It is important to note that the concept plan referred to above has been endorsed by Council for the purpose of seeking grant funding only and should not be taken as representing an approved final plan. The concept plan is a starting point only for this detailed design stage. As part of the detailed design phase, alternative layouts and designs for the centre should be prepared for consideration and the design process will need to be flexible to respond to potential changes in the project budget as the outcomes of grant funding applications become known.

Based on the concept plan, the project is estimated to cost $46m. Funding to deliver the project is likely to come from a number of sources and may not all be available at one time. It is therefore critical that the project be designed to be able to be delivered in stages.
