Tender Description
The Principal is a provider of urban water, and wastewater services in the Lower Hunter region incorporating the Local Government Areas of Newcastle, Port Stephens, Dungog, Maitland, Cessnock and Lake Macquarie.
Rehabilitation works have been identified as being required to an existing boat ramp at Chichester Dam and of sewer infrastructure at Medowie.
Chichester Dam currently requires regular boat launches to be undertaken as part of its ongoing operation. These launches are currently undertaken from makeshift gravel boat ramps making the launching and retrieval of the boat both difficult and dangerous.
It is proposed to construct a concrete boat ramp to enable safer boat launches and retrievals as well as upgrading and realigning the access road.
Gravity and low pressure sewer infrastructure at Medowie has suffered severe corrosion from hydrogen sulphate gases and is at risk of failure. Sewer maintenance holes have been identified as requiring replacement and low pressure sewer mains require modification into the maintenance holes, with as little disruption to the sewer supply as possible.
