Construction of Upgrades to the Bright Wastewater Treatment Plant

⁠⁠⁠The Townships of Bright and Porepunkah are located in the Shire of Indigo in the north-east of the Australian state of Victoria. It is approximately a three hour drive from the Melbourne CBD. The Bright-Porepunkah WWTP is situated half way between the two towns, alongside the Ovens River on the Great Alpine Road.

North East Water is upgrading the Bright Wastewater Treatment Plant to create a consistent and reliable treatment process that will meet the EPA licence requirements. A detailed design specification has been developed and included in Part B of this tender package.

The Works of this Contract are to upgrade the Wastewater Treatment Plant by converting the existing, disused Lagoon to a dual power lagoon system (using clay-impregnated geosynthetic liners) and sludge management space, and provision of an alum dosing system (including lagoon), relocation of existing baffle curtain, upgrade of electrical works and other associated works.

North East Water is now inviting suitably qualified contractors to tender for the construction of the upgrades to the Bright Wastewater Treatment Plant.
