Tenders will be called and award given for construction outside the Christmas School Holidays, to be complete by 30 June 2018.
Warden Head Lighthouse is an iron framed tower with cast iron plates riveted together. It has 2 timber floors connected by iron ladders. The balcony surrounding the lantern is supported by cast iron brackets of an ornate form. The height of the lighthouse from the ground to the floor of the lantern room is 8.23m, to the top of the window in the lantern room is about 10.75m and to the top of the spherical lightning conductor support is 13m.
Work involves the removal of, and disposal of, lead based paint and associated occupational monitoring and testing to Australian Standards.
A Review of Environmental Factors has been determined for the work, and is included as part of the tender documents.
Similarly the Conservation Management Plan of the Heritage Listed lighthouse is included for information.
