The City of Melbourne seeks Australian artist responses, with Aboriginal artists encouraged to apply, for the commissioning of major artwork(s) at University Square -a much loved park in Carlton.

This brief is an invitation to artists to consider the balance and integration of a permanent contemporary artwork(s) within the context of a new master plan for University Square. Procurement for the commission will be conducted in two stages:

* Stage One: Registration of Interest (ROI) in response to this brief.
* Stage Two: Shortlist of artists, whose concepts have best met the selection criteria outlined. The shortlisted artists will be required to provide two responses:

Written response to a Request for Proposal, and a detailed and developed design response as to the creation and installation of their concept (a fee will be paid for this part).
