Registration for Expression of Interest - Sydney Metro City & Southwest - Barangaroo Station

⁠⁠⁠Sydney Metro is Australia’s biggest public transport project. A new standalone railway, this 21st century network will deliver 31 metro stations and 66 kilometres of new metro rail for Australia’s biggest city - revolutionising the way Sydney travels. Services start in 2019 using Sydney’s new generation of fully-automated metro trains.

Sydney Metro is comprised of two projects:
* Sydney Metro Northwest - formerly the 36km North West Rail Link. This $8.3 billion project is now under construction and will open in the first half of 2019 with a metro train every four minutes in the peak. Tunneling has finished and construction is progressing rapidly; and
* Sydney Metro City & Southwest - a new 30km metro line extending metro rail from the end of Sydney Metro Northwest at Chatswood under Sydney Harbour, through new CBD stations and southwest to Bankstown. It is due to open in 2024 with the capacity to run a metro train every two minutes each way through the centre of Sydney.

This Invitation for Expression of Interest deals with the Barangaroo Station works.

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is seeking Expressions of Interest from entities that share our vision of creating a Metro Station and surrounding precinct at Barangaroo on Sydney’s premier waterfront. This is a chance to build not just a station, but deliver a superior customer experience that is intuitive, safe, efficient and engaging and which truly reflects the government’s commitment to quality and design excellence.

Barangaroo Station is one of seven (7) new underground Metro Stations between Chatswood and Sydenham. The station will be located below Hickson Road between the Sydney Steps to the South and the Munn Street bridge to the North. It will provide easy access to new public, residential, commercial and entertainment areas, such as the Barangaroo Ferry Hub, residential areas at Millers Point and Walsh Bay Arts and Cultural precinct. It will also alleviate congestion at existing CBD stations.

The Barangaroo Station works (Works) includes the design and construction of a new station and surrounding area. The Works are to be coordinated with the adjacent Central Barangaroo Development, which is to be delivered by the Barangaroo Delivery Authority. Excavation and core structures for the station will be under taken by the Tunnel and Station Excavation (TSE) Contractor in advance of this contract.

The Works will include:
* Platform fit out and all remaining station building works including all foundation, lifts and escalators, and finishing works to support works by others;
* Station services (including mechanical, electrical, fire, water, sewer, lighting, and environmental control systems) and the management and coordination of other contractors providing other station services;
* Public domain works; and
* Hickson Road works.
