Tender Description
The Contract Works shall comprise, but not be limited to, every operation for the completion of the Port Fairy pipe bursting works as detailed in the Specification and generally including:
Supply all plant and equipment necessary to carry out appropriate inspection and preparation/cleaning of the sewer in order to ensure satisfactory installation of the new pipe and carry out the insertion of the new pipe;
Supply of Pipe material and other materials;
Pipebursting works;
Groundwater management;
Pre-construction CCTV to determine sewer condition and confirm number of property connections;
Flushing of sewers;
Provision of "as-constructed" field notes;
Modifying access chamber channels to suit the new pipeline;
Replacement and/or raising and replacement of maintenance hole covers, as directed;
Full reinstatement of sewer manholes to pre-construction condition;
By-pass pumping/flow control of sewers and property connections during the Works in accordance with the Project Specification;
Excavation;
Supporting the excavation and plating at end of each work day;
Reconnection of property branch sewers to the reticulation sewer and to the horizontal "run-in";
Reconstruction of the vertical component of any property branch (i.e. reconstructing any jump up);
Backfilling;
Participation in site inspections with the Principal as required in the investigation/design phase to help work through customer/construction issues and visually record the existing pre construction conditions of the site of the Works;
Liaison with authorities and other organisations having jurisdiction in connection with carrying out the Works;
Notification to property owners 2 clear business days in advance of any works within or directly affecting their property;
Obtaining written permission for access to properties where applicable;
Submission to the Principal of applicable quality documentation, such as site hazard assessments etc.
Delivery of pre-construction customer information letters;
Preparing and working to a Traffic Management Plan around the construction area;
Traffic control;
Obtaining Road Opening Permits from Council (inclusive of all fees payable);
Acceptance testing of sewers in accordance with requirements of the Project Specification;
Providing one set of post construction CCTV DVD's and reports for all pipeburst sewers;
Surface restoration and cleaning up of the site on completion of the Works;
Site restoration of areas affected by the Works including road pavements, grassed areas etc. consistent with the conditions prior to the Works and to the satisfaction of the Superintendent, responsible authority and or the landowner, including all statutory charges and fees;
Obtaining a written release from residents where access to private property was required and from Moyne Shire Council for works completed on their assets. The Principal reserves the right to carry out restoration of private property, at the Contractor's cost, if the restoration works undertaken do not meet the required standard; and
Participation in "Final Inspections" and/or attending to outstanding items or defects.
The Contractor must have as a minimum the ability and equipment to safely excavate shafts to various depths of up to 5 metres (including ground support and plating of shafts) and then backfill and restore the disturbed area. These shafts are for the installation of the new pipe and for the reconnection of Property Connection Sewers.
