Request for Proposal (RFP): Headspace Lead Agency

COORDINARE - South Eastern NSW Primary Health Network (PHN) in partnership with Capital Health Network - ACT Primary Health Network (PHN), invites suitably qualified and experienced organisations to apply to become the lead agency for headspace services Queanbeyan, Canberra and/or Bega Valley through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The operational funding will be to deliver headspace services to young people in the regions, and support for their families and friends.

The national network of headspace services provide a holistic, youth friendly, primary mental health service for young people aged between 12-25 years at risk of mild to moderate mental illness and are delivered at a “one stop shop”. The model has an early intervention orientation and adopts a “no wrong door approach”.

The commissioned service will be tasked to deliver mental health, physical and sexual health, drug and alcohol and vocational support services in an integrated way and will be encouraged to partner with existing services to facilitate access and to achieve the best result for young people in each region. These services will also undertake activities in each region to improve mental health literacy among young people, promote help seeking and reduce barriers to appropriate healthcare.

headspace has been operational in Canberra and Quenbeyan for a number of years, meeting with hundreds of young people every month. The current process is seeking a new lead agency to take up this challenge and continue to expand the reach and positive impact of these important services.

The Bega Valley community are excited to be receiving headspace services for the first time with 125 stakeholders taking part in consultation sessions in Bega over two days in August and September. Through the RFP, SENSW PHN are seeking an agency to take the lead to establish and operate the much anticipated headspace Bega Valley in a way which reflects the needs of the local community.

Proposals must be lodged electronically via the portal. Submissions must be received by 5:00pm 13 November 2017.
