Provision of Secondary Consultation by a Psychiatrist

⁠⁠⁠Western Victoria Primary Health Network is seeking responses to this RFP for the services of a culturally informed Psychiatrist to provide Secondary Consultation Services for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCO) across Western Victoria.

Significant barriers to accessing appropriate mental health care exist for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples presenting with complex mental health issues. This service will support social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB) workers to understand differences between significant psychological distress, concerns about suicide and mental illness.

Secondary Consultation Services by a Psychiatrist will support the SEWB workforce to deliver helpful interventions as they relate to the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This service will also contribute to the professional development of the SEWB workforce within an existing and emerging evidence platform to ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
