Drainage Works - Newman

⁠⁠⁠The Shire of East Pilbara is committed to providing safe, efficient and effective road infrastructure services that represents value for money to its residents/community for a sub-regional town.

With the above mentioned the Principal's Technical and Development Services division staff carried routine inspections identified and listed a number of drainage issues and decided to undertake Drainage Capacity Study for the town drainage infrastructure.

The Newman Depot, through the Shire's procurement process, engaged GHD for drainage study and based on the study outcomes the Principal is seeking suitably qualified and experienced Contractors to undertake the provision of drainage installation works, including reinstatement of concrete and pavement infrastructure.

Furthermore, the Depot developed a 5-Year Drainage Improvement Plan for Newman (including drainage installation project incorporating five streets completed in the FY16/17), which would lead to delivery of drainage projects such as incorporated in this RFT for the next 3-4 financial years.

The purpose of this Request for Tender (RFT) is to enter in to the lump sum contract to seek services of a suitably qualified company for the concrete renewal works. It is the Principal's intention to enter into the Contract/s with the preferred Tenderer for providing the above mentioned requirements.

A full statement of the goods/services required under the proposed contract appears in the Scope of Works below [clause 2.4] and the attached Specification document [Appendix 6.1]. The requirements within the Specification documentation are to be complied with as part of the Contracted works.

The Drainage installation works are to align with the Shire of East Pilbara Strategic Community Plan 2013-2022 "Our Planned Actions- 3.3 "Provide Adequate Community Infrastructure".
