Tender Description
The Victorian Regional Channels Authority (VRCA) is responsible for the commercial shipping channels which provide access for ships visiting the Port of Geelong.
The VRCA is seeking tenders from contractors with capability and experience in marine dredging for capital dredging work in the Geelong shipping channels. Organisations submitting a tender will be required to demonstrate extensive operational experience within major commercial ports, and to indicate the availability of suitable dredging plant to complete the works during 2017.
Potential tenderers are advised that the material to be removed (approx. 160,000 cub m insitu) and the site layout favour the use of mechanical dredging plant, preferably a back hoe dredge, and environmental approvals are being obtained subject to the use of such equipment.
Dredge material is to be transported and placed at the existing Dredge Material Ground located east of Point Wilson.
Organisations wishing to submit a tender are required to register with the VRCA in order to receive a Request for Tender (RFT) document.
Tenders will only be accepted if prepared in accordance with the details contained in the RFT.
RFT documents are obtainable electronically only by email registration with: tenders@regionalchannels.vic.gov.au.
Requests for RFT documents must include the name and address of the organisation, and contact details (telephone, fax and email) for the person responsible for the preparation of the tender.
Potential tenderers are advised that this tender is subject to the Victorian Industry Participation Policy (VIPP) of the Victorian Government.
Tenders are to be received at the office of the VRCA no later than 2.00pm Wednesday 30 August 2017. The VRCA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reject any tenders received after this time.
