Council is inviting Pyrenees Shire communities and service groups to submit an Expression of Interest in hosting the Shire’s official Australia Day Celebrations. Council would like to confirm a list of communities for the next five years.
Community groups need to be able to provide a venue and be able to arrange a morning / afternoon tea or bbq at a time of day that suits the community with all costs for food and other requirements covered by Council.
Council organises the formal part of the celebration with the opportunity for the community to showcase their town with art, photographic or historical displays, or any other activity that highlights the assets of the township and its people.
The community is required to supply in-kind support, and volunteers may be required to help with children’s activities. Council fund food, any shade required for the day and childrens events.
A donation of $500 is made to the community group hosting the day.

Expression of Interest forms may be downloaded via the link below or collected from customer service at the Shire Office or Resource Centres.
Expressions of Interest must be received by 5.00 pm on Friday 15th September 2017. The group to host the 2018 celebration will be confirmed by Council at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on the 19th September 2017 and the rotation of community groups announced at that time.
