Tender Description

Contract 115/15 - Description of Works:
This project involves the design, construct and set-up of an integrated Smart Freeway system which will include:
* ALR from Canning Highway to the Narrows Bridge
* Coordinated Ramp Signals (CRS) on on-ramps at Farrington Road, South Street, Leach Highway East Entry, Leach Highway West Entry and Cranford Avenue
* Localised widening to create emergency stopping bays and installation of Lane Use Management Systems (LUMS) and Variable Speed Limits (VSL) to manage the operation of the ALR area
* Operational support to include testing and commissioning for all ITS devices, including seamless integration of devices with STREAMS (ITS control system).

A Non-Mandatory tender briefing will be held on Wednesday 26 July 2017 commencing at 3.30 pm at Don Aitken centre.

Commonwealth Funded Contract that requires compliance with the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry and the Building Code:
The Code for the Tendering and Performance of Building Work 2016 applies to the building works associated with this project. By submitting an expression of interest in, or tender for this project, you will become subject to the Code for the Tendering and Performance of Building Work 2016.

Commonwealth Funded Contract that requires compliance with the Australian Govt Building and Construction WHS Accreditation Scheme:
It is a requirement of this project that any persons contracted to undertake the building work be accredited under the Australian Government building and construction industry Work Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme, established by the Building and Construction Industry (Improving Productivity) Act 2016 (Cth), at the time of entering into the contract for the building work and maintains accreditation while the building work is being carried out.

The builder must comply with all conditions of Scheme accreditation and the National Construction Code performance requirements in relation to building materials.

Section 26(1)(f) of the Fair Work (Building Industry - Accreditation Scheme) Regulation 2016 (Cth) outlines provisions applying to joint venture arrangements that include accredited and unaccredited builders.
