Tender Description
Cardno was engaged by the department to prepare a geotechnical assessment report. This report concluded there was unacceptable risks to users of the Bogey Hole and surrounding areas. Remedial works have been designed by Cardno. A number of remedial works were undertaken in late 2016 as part of Bogey Hole Stage 1 works. The aim of Stage 2 is to complete the remaining remedial works and some ancillary tasks. Works to be included under the contract include:
* Removal of a failed retaining wall and regrading behind the old retaining wall north of the Bogey Hole;
* Removal of existing cyclone fence surrounding retaining wall and removal of signage on the rock platform below the retaining wall;
* Removal of debris (soil and rock behind containment wall along Western side of Shortland Esplanande leading to Bogey Hole;
* Removal of dilapidated footpath, installation of new kerb and refurbishment and reinstallation of ordinance fence (optional item);
* Clearing existing stormwater drains (optional item).
Works under this Contract comprise the supply of labour, materials and plant to construct the works. All work shall be carried out by appropriately licensed personnel in such a manner as to ensure the protection of the environment and safe public use of adjoining areas and must comply with the criteria and all controls as nominated in this specification and detailed in the Review of Environmental Factors.
