Horticulture Innovation Australia Limited (Hort Innovation) is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the project: Revision of the Owner Reimbursement Costs Evidence Framework for the banana industry (BA16012).
The objectives of the services are to help Hort Innovation and the banana industry to:
* Revise the endorsed draft Banana Industry Owner Reimbursement Costs Evidence Framework
* Consult effectively with Plant Health Australia, industry stakeholders including R&D levy payers and the Australian Banana Growers Council, and banana growing state agencies (QLD, NSW, NT and WA)
* Develop a hierarchy of evidence for scenarios representative of key banana growing areas in north Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales, to cover small, medium and large farms and significant farming systems – based on industry standards and best practice.
The intended outcomes include:
* The Australian banana industry has a revised Owner Reimbursement Costs Evidence Framework that is relevant to most enterprise types
* The impact of emergency plant pest incursions and responses is reduced in instances where affected growers are eligible for reimbursement as a result of losses during a response.
