Newcastle City Council, through its Building Better Cities (BBC) Committee, has allocated $3.01 million for the design and development of a project inclusive of affordable housing units (AHUs) within the Newcastle local government area.

To partner in the delivery of this initiative, the BBC Committee is seeking expressions of interest from Tier One community housing providers registered under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH).

The successful project can be delivered as a residential or mixed-use development which will be required to include a component of affordable housing, or as a stand-alone affordable housing development. The BBC Committee is offering to contribute $3.01 million in exchange for delivered AHUs.

At completion of the project, the AHUs will be vested in the successful Tier One community housing provider that delivers the successful bid as determined by the Council.

Closing time and date for submissions is 2:00pm on Tuesday 4 July 2017.
