Provision of Sanitary Hygiene Services for Hume City Council

⁠⁠⁠Council is calling tenders for the provision of Sanitary and Hygiene Services on a schedule of rates basis. The contract will be supervised by Hume City Council’s Building Maintenance Department.

The objective of the Contract is for a suitably qualified and resourced Contractor to provide timely and responsive provision of sanitary and nappy disposal bins, toilet hygiene and aerosol services at specified Council buildings across the municipality.

The Contractor is to supply auto operated aerosol fresheners, hygiene treatment sanitisers and deep cleaning of urinals in specified buildings at the specified frequencies in the attached Schedule.

The Contractor shall ensure the aerosol containers and sanitisers are appropriately affixed, fully operational at all times and performing at optimum levels.

The Contractor is to supply suitable receptacles/bins for the sanitary napkin and nappy services. The bins to be used shall be in accordance with the following capacities:

* Sanitary napkin bins – 26 litre capacity
* Nappy bins – 26 litre capacity

The sanitary napkin and nappy receptacles/bins are to be kept in a clean and hygienic condition at all times. Material Safety Data Sheets must be displayed if any chemicals are stored at Council facilities. Chemicals and/or equipment may only be stored at Council facilities with prior approval from the Supervisor.

The Contractor is to fully inform and train all their staff in the proper storage, dilution and application of all materials used in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, laws and legislation.

All staff engaged by the Contractor must be properly clothed and equipped to safely use the materials in accordance with Australian Standards.

All sanitary napkins, nappies, or other material removed from the various units/receptacles are to be disposed of in a safe and hygienic manner in accordance with Environment Protection Agency transport and disposal regulations.

Should it be deemed that any of the service requirements listed in this Specification have not been fulfilled, the Contractor will be required to attend and rectify within one day of the request being made. This will be at no cost to Council.
