The Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services provides funding to services to support older people experiencing or at risk of experiencing elder abuse. The overall objectives include reducing harm and social isolation, ensuring older people are safe, supported and connected to community and improving their quality of life.

A statewide allocation of $700,000 per annum (excl. GST) over three years or a total of $2.1 million (excl. GST) from 2017-18 to 2019-20 is available to ensure delivery of legal and support services in one, several, or all of the following areas:
* Gold Coast
* Sunshine Coast
* Gladstone
* Mackay
* Rockhampton
