Goulburn Valley Health is a public owned regional hospital located in Shepparton, Victoria as established under the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic). GVH is a multi-campus facility providing a broad range of hospital and community services throughout the Hume Region. The Shepparton campus, located at Graham Street Shepparton currently has 266 beds providing acute medical, surgical, obstetrics, paediatrics, rehabilitation, psychiatric and intensive coronary care.

As part of the redevelopment, the future CSSD will be significantly enlarged to cater for an increased throughput of materials and will be moved to another location. The existing CSSD supports three (3) operating theatres and one (1) day procedure unit as well as other clinical activities, whilst the future CSSD will be required to support seven (7) operating theatres plus a future interventional procedure room as well as other clinical activities.

The existing CSSD has two (2) washer disinfectors and two (2) steam sterilizers that are at the end of their lifespan and GVH wishes to upgrade these machines immediately. The CSSD currently does not have a low temperature sterilizer and GVH also wishes to procure and install one (1) of these units immediately.

The preference is not to transfer these items to the new CSSD. However whilst these equipment items will be immediately installed within the existing CSSD footprint, at a later date in alignment with the redevelopment project programme these items may need to relocated and recommissioned in the future CSSD. Refer II b) Equipment Details below.

Furthermore to handle the increased throughput of the future enhanced CSSD, additional equipment will be required to be supplied and installed at a later date again in alignment with the redevelopment project programme.

So the purpose of this tender is threefold:
* To address the immediate GVH CSSD requirements with minimal disruption to the ongoing CSSD work activities.
* To form a close long-term corporate relationship with the successful Bidder that will assist with the successful implement of GVH’s CSSD redevelopment project.
* The future supply and installation of additional equipment as a complete CSSD package that is in alignment with the redevelopment project programme.
