EOI for Line 39 Cable Installation (Design & Construct)

⁠⁠⁠The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is to ascertain the capabilities of Respondents in the market able to provide a Design and Construct (D&C) contract for the design, supply and installation of 330kV XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) underground cable.

It is TransGrid's intention to use the information supplied under this EOI to prequalify contractors for the planned TransGrid 330kV underground diversion works required at the Sydney West Airport development site.

TransGrid may use the Tenderers who respond to this EOI as a basis for developing a selective list to issue a Request for Tender (RFT's) for individual services or a group of services.

TransGrid invites submissions to enable assessment of a contractor's expertise, prior experience, WHS and environmental performance and reference projects.

Respondents shall note however that TransGrid shall not be obliged to issue a RFT or to invite any Respondent to submit a tender. Furthermore, TransGrid does not warrant that any RFT or specification, when issued, will necessarily reflect the functional scope as set out in this EOI document.

All costs incurred by the Respondent in relation to the EOI and any subsequent RFQ process shall be borne by the Respondent. TransGrid will not accept any claim against it or its agents regardless of the results of the EOI process for reimbursement of time, material, and/or expenses incurred by the Respondent.

The D&C contract would cover the design, manufacture, supply, and installation of the 330kV XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) underground cable, and associated accessories, sub-systems and civil works for a single circuit, with backup circuit, between TransGrid's Northern (Sydney West) transition point to the Southern (Bannaby) transition point and is approximately 4 km long.
