Principal Architectural Consultant for the Gippsland Hi Tech Precinct

⁠⁠⁠Federation University Australia is seeking detailed submissions for the provision of Architectural and allied services associated with the design and construction of the Gippsland Hi Tech Precinct at Morwell.

The successful contractor would be required to work closely with the nominated Fed Uni Representative to achieve the desired outcomes in the negotiated timeframe and with value for money.

Federation University Australia (the Client) requests the services of a suitably experienced architectural firm to provide architectural and design services for the design and construction of the Gippsland Hi Technology Precinct at Morwell.

The project shall deliver a new commercial and educational facility that supports the delivery of economic and educational activities within the site.  The final scope of the functional brief for the design shall be completed through an operational business planning process that shall be completed by the end of May 2017. The operational plan shall inform the functional brief for the architectural design process.

The project must also successfully complement the adjacent Technical school development which is intended to interact substantially with the development.

This work should include but not be restricted to the development of the full design of GHTP including:

* Identification of the preferred Stage 1 construction site within the identified site,
* Development of concept, detailed and final design documentation to support the approvals process,
* Development of contractual documentation, and
* Supervision of the construction and delivery of the project.

An indicative project program and budget has been established and forms part of the State Government approval for the funding of the project.  It is therefore a fundamental requirement of this brief that the following milestone dates are achieved;

April 2017 – Commence procurement of Architect and sub consultant team
June 2017 – Appoint Architect
August 2017 – Concept design complete
September – November 2017 - Procure builder utilising Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) process
October 2017 – Stage 1 detailed design complete 75% preparatory to ECI process
October – November – ECI design process.
December 2017 – Commence construction
December 2018 – Project completion
