Market Enquiry: Support Systems for Overhead Line Equipment (Rail)

⁠⁠⁠The Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA) is responsible for the operation of all bus, train and ferry public transport services in the greater metropolitan area under the Transperth brand. In addition to operating these transport services, we design, build and maintain public transport infrastructure and protect the long-term viability of Western Australia’s rail corridor and railway infrastructure.

The Network and Infrastructure (N&I) division within the PTA manages and maintains the metropolitan electrified railway infrastructure. In order to maintain a safe and reliable rail, preventative network maintenance and renewal programs are undertaken on a regular basis. The Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) is a critical rail asset that needs to be maintained and renewed over time.

The PTA has various specialised plant, equipment and vehicles to support these works. With the existing specialised equipment, plant and vehicles, coming to the end of their service life, the PTA is looking at the next generation options available to assist in its ongoing management of OLE works.
