Tender Description
The Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing requires the services of a reliable contractor to carry out Ship Keeping Services on ex-HMAS Tobruk currently berthed (temporarily) at the John J.Fisher wharf in the Port of Bundaberg. The ship was gifted to the Queensland Government for preparation and scuttling as a dive wreck.
The ship keeping contractor will be required and responsible for:
* Accessing the ship with a domestic commercial vessel
* Boarding the ship via vertical ladder (with handrails) (attached to the ship)
* Checking and Maintenance of mooring lines;
* Checking the draft lines on the hull
* Checking Vessel marking lights
* Checking external doors and hatches on ship are closed and locked (zip tided).
* Daily reporting via checklist form (to be developed)
Checks will be required twice daily (AM and PM) and are to be conducted by two (2) people (to stay together). It is anticipated that the total function will take approximately two (2) hours.
The contract will be month by month to a maximum of six (6) months while a tender process is undertaken to appoint a principle/primary contractor for the preparation and scuttling of the ship.
