Northern Beaches Council (Council) invites tenders for the carrying out and completion of minor works for Killarney Heights Oval Sports Field Lighting Upgrade (Design and Construct). The scope of the works includes, in brief, the project outcome is to provide a new floodlighting installation for the field.
Killarney Heights Oval is categorised in the Sportsground Plan of Management as a Local A facility, authorised for training and daylight competition, night competition by agreement and shared use with general community. The local schools also use the park at various times during the day for sport.
The sportsground comprises 1 full size football field used for association football (soccer), a synthetic cricket pitch and 2 practice cricket nets.
A sportsfield lighting audit undertaken in May 2007 identified that the existing sports lighting does not comply with Australian Standard AS2560.2.3. - 2007.
