Tender Description
Since 2003 the EPA has delivered a Household Chemical Collection (HCC) program. The program provides a means by which NSW households can dispose of household chemical waste (HCW) such as paint, gas bottles, batteries, oils, smoke detectors, house and garden chemicals and other gas bottles in an appropriate manner that safeguards the community and environment. This is an “event based” service.
This Collection Program provides services directly organised by the EPA in the following 5 areas/zones:
* Greater Sydney Metropolitan area (3 zones) - Northern, Southern, Western
* Hunter & Central coast areas (1 zone)
* Illawarra (1 zone)
Household chemical collections outside these areas are organised by regional groups of councils or other agencies, some of whom access the contracts that emanate from this tender.
A separate contractor will be appointed to provide Audit Services to verify the collection and disposal of materials collected by this program and assist with the general oversight of the program.
