Construction of Downstream Concreted Rock Protection Works - Mary River Barrage

⁠⁠⁠SunWater is seeking a Contractor to undertake the civil works to repair the downstream rock protection. The Scope of Works also states the requirements for the Contractor to assume the role of the ‘principal contractor’ and all responsibilities under the Queensland Work, Health & Safety Act for all specified work under contract. The principal work of the project includes, but is not limited to:

a) Mobilisation and demobilisation.
b) All work to satisfy the requirements for support of execution of work on Site including but not limited to:
* Project Execution;
* Site Management;
* Workplace Health and Safety Management;
* Safe Work Method Management;
* Construction Program Management;
* Environmental Management (Includes Waste Management)
* Quality Assurance System;
* Quality and Control Management; and
* Program and Progress Reporting.

c) Care of Environment:
* Restoration of Site; and
* Establishment of all Environmental Controls including the installation of a Silt Curtain around the downstream Concrete Rock Protection Works during construction.

d) Supply all items not supplied by SunWater.
e) Provision of SunWater Representative and Contractor's Site Offices and Facilities.
f) Construction of the Access Road, Works Area and Access Ramp and dispose of unsuitable material off-site.

g) Carry out before and after underwater surveys of the Concreted Rockfill Protection Works for the calculation of material quantities and 'As Built' information.

h) Excavate existing downstream rockfill, rock, and gravel underwater.

i) Stockpile suitable rock from excavation for inclusion in the works and dispose unsuitable material from excavation off-site.
j) Place stockpiled rock and additional rock underwater downstream of the Barrage.

k) Place concrete around rock underwater downstream of the Barrage.

l) Temporary Works as required to enable the completion of the works giving consideration to the inherent conditions of the Works Areas. Specifically consideration of the placement of concrete into a tidal environment, with the likely occurrence of water overtopping the barrage.
