Design Consultancy Services, Pedestrian & Cyclist Bridge Between Morton & Alfred St

⁠⁠⁠Invitation to Tender No. 28/2016 Design Consultancy Services, Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridge Between Morton and Alfred Streets, Parramatta.

In recent years, City of Parramatta Council has experienced a significant volume of both commercial and residential development occurring within the CBD and immediate surroundings. With the increase in overall development, connectivity between various zones is considered a critical element of the strategic planning objectives.

As part of the overall planning strategy, City of Parramatta Council is improving connectivity along and across the Parramatta River at key locations as an ongoing process and proposes to construct a Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridge linking Morton and Alfred Streets across Parramatta River.

Tenders are invited from experienced Bridge Engineering Design Consultants for the preparation of a comprehensive Detail Design and Documentation Package for the procurement of the above Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridge.

The Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridge will act as prominent landmark defining the river entry to the City of Parramatta CBD and Council expects a high quality design outcome with an emphasis on bridge design aesthetics.

In addition to civil and structural engineering expertise associated with bridge design, the scope will essentially require expertise in the fields of surveying and bathymetry, hydrology and geotechnical investigations, flood modelling, environmental, archaeological, heritage and visual impact assessment, urban design and landscape architecture, electrical, transport and accessibility and cost planning-quantity surveying. Depending on the availability of in-house expertise, the Consultant will be responsible for the engagement and co-ordination of required sub-consultants.

A final decision will be made regarding this Tender at the end December 2016, with anticipated commencement in January 2017.

No pre-tender meeting is proposed, however it is recommended that prospective Tenderers visit the project site to confirm 'scope of work', and if questions arise submit these via the TenderLink forum or to tenders@parracity.nsw.gov.au
