Tender Details
Tender Description
Tenders close at 12 noon Wednesday 26 October 2016.
Contractors are required to attend a compulsory pre-submission briefing meeting and site inspection in order to submit a quotation. This will be held on Wednesday 12 October 2016 at 12 noon.
A feasibility study is required to investigate the upgrade of Long Point Road to a condition that the road and the Macquarie River is passable by a standard two-wheel drive vehicle in typical conditions.
Approximately 9km of Long Point Road is currently considered passable by four-wheel drive only. This is made up of the last 7km segment of Long Point Road within Cabonne Shire heading down to the Macquarie River, the crossing itself and the first 2km heading towards Hill End on the Mid-Western Regional Council side of the Macquarie River. Of particular interest are details of a low level causeway that is only passable in a four-wheel-drive in reasonably dry conditions.
There are also various other sections of gravel road that would significantly benefit from an upgrade. It is noted that there was a previous report conducted by PPK in 2000 and Hoynes Wheeler and Thorne Pty Ltd in 1996 primarily focusing on road construction on the Mid-Western Regional Council.
Contractors are to provide Council with as much information as possible and a tender for proposed works to upgrade the road to the standards listed below.
