Replacement of Roof Waterproofing System Including Assessment and Repair of Concrete Slab
Tender ID: 285991
Tender Details
Tender Description
Guthega Power Station is situated in Kosciuszko National Park. The construction was completed in 1955 and is the oldest power station in the Snowy Mountains Scheme.
The works are to include the repair of the Power Station, the Control Room and the Auxiliary Plant House roofs.
The roofs consist of reinforced, cast in place concrete slabs, with a light weight 'cell' concrete topping to provide fall and three layers of asphalt board laid in warm asphalt to provide a waterproof barrier. The asphalt seal has deteriorated with age and a number of leaks have been observed inside the buildings.
The works include the assessment of the concrete slab by non-destructive method, the reporting thereof, removal of the existing waterproofing membrane, concrete repair and installation of replacement waterproofing membrane.
The location of the power station demands a high degree of environmental awareness as well as restrictions around the timing of the works given the weather extremes experienced in this area.
