Tender Description
DSC ITT: 178-2016
Invitation to Tender Overview
Tenders are invited to: Undertake works to Douglas Shire Council’s road infrastructure for the proposed road upgrade at Port Douglas Road Service Road, Port Douglas.
It is proposed to reconstruct the existing service road and provide for two lane- two way flow of traffic.
It is further understood that the roads are subject to some light heavy vehicle traffic (generally <20 tonne), allowing for garbage service and removalist type vehicles.
The service road is currently single lane bitumen surfaced residential access street with low traffic volumes servicing adjoining residential dwellings.
The existing pavement consists of approximately 150mm of type 2.2/3 material over silty sand subgrade to lower clay layers at depth.
The works are located within an urban environment, care should be exercised during excavation as sub-surface public services (i.e. telephone, gas, water, and sewer) are located in the immediate vicinity of the proposed for reconstruction area.
