Redevelopment of the Visitor Centre at the Port Arthur Historic Site, Tasmania

⁠⁠⁠The Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority (PAHSMA) invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced companies to undertake the role of Managing Contractor for works and services in relation to the redevelopment of the Visitor Centre at the Port Arthur Historic Site, Tasmania.

Details of the work and services required by the Managing Contractor are outlined in the Request for Expression of Interest, (REOI), available at http://portarthur.org.au/heritage/vc-upgrade-reoi.

Respondents are required to have pre-qualification status under the terms of Tasmanian Government Treasury Pre-qualification Scheme OR undertake to obtain qualification prior to submittal of phase 2 tenders. Following the REOI process PAHSMA will invite tenders for the provision of the work and services from a short-list of respondents.

The work and services to be provided by the Managing Contractor for the project comprise:
* Enabling works including staged demolition of existing redundant infrastructure and building components
* Construction of extension to the main building comprising approximately 900m2
* Renovation and refurbishment to the existing building of approximately 1200m2
* New mechanical, electrical and hydraulic services infrastructure for the whole building
* Refurbishment of existing cafe kitchen, cafe toilets and wet areas
* Fit out of building excluding the Exhibition Gallery
* Civil works associated with external forecourt areas
* Hard and soft landscaping

The evaluation criteria, terms and conditions and other submission requirements are contained in the REOI.

The closing date for REOI submissions is 2pm, AEST 30 September 2016. The tender process with shortlisted respondents will be conducted immediately following evaluation of EOIs. The anticipated commencement of construction activity is late January 2017 with completion December 2017.
