RFQ Geraldton Port High Voltage Distribution System Power Study
Tender ID: 279425
Tender Details
Tender Description
The Geraldton Port has undergone considerable development, including the expansion of Berth 5 and construction of Berth 7, since 2007 to accommodate increased exports of iron ore and other minerals and commodities. The Port HV distribution system has been progressively upgraded from a capacity of around 7MVA to over 20MVA. With further expansion on hold in the short term, the Port is in a state of consolidation and Mid West Ports Authority is assessing the current state of the HV distribution system to ensure it is compliant with all requirements and is stable under normal and abnormal operating conditions.
As part of this investigation, MWPA requires a computer based power system study to be carried out on the Port HV distribution system to identify existing and potential non-conformances and weaknesses related to HV electrical installations, equipment and protection systems. The study should be established on a software platform that is at current industry standards and which meets the approval and requirements of the Western Power Corporation in WA.
The objective of the study is to confirm the current status of the HV distribution system and provide recommendations to rectify identified deficiencies and potential weaknesses in the system equipment installations and over current and fault protection on the power and earth circuits.
