The Australian Football League (AFL) conducts Australian football competitions and associated events throughout Australia and overseas generating substantial public following and goodwill.

As part of the competition structure the AFL conducts a preseason tournament being the NAB Challenge which hosts matches across various metropolitan, regional and rural venues. The competition is conducted in February and March as a lead in to the AFL Premiership Season.

The purpose of this document is to define the specific requirements of the AFL to host and conduct the NAB Challenge by selecting appropriate fixture venues and to elicit submissions to the scope.

The objectives of the RFT are:
* To determine community venues suitable to host a 2017 NAB Challenge match;
* To promote AFL in regional and rural communities;To allow accessibility for AFL fans and the wider community not usually afforded access to AFL games by virtue of the regular season AFL Fixture;
* To achieve at a minimum a cost neutral position for the AFL in hosting NAB Challenge matches and a positive financial impact to the community and venue hosting a NAB Challenge match;
* Promote and grow the sport of AFL and the AFL competition;
* Support communities that have invested in promoting and growing AFL.
