1) Airport East - Wentworth Avenue Extension and Joyce Drive Widening 2) Airport North - O'Riordan St Widening, Mascot

⁠⁠⁠The works for Airport East includes:
1) Building one Rail Bridge Over Wentworth Avenue underpass to General Holmes Drive;
2) Providing bridge over the storm water channel and existing sewer and gas utilities on the extension of Wentworth avenue;
3) Eliminating the level crossing at General Holmes Drive;
4) Widening the sections of Joyce Drive and General Holmes Drive;
5) Upgrading intersections at:
* Wentworth Avenue and Botany Road;
* General Holmes Drive and Mill Pond Road;
* Botany Road and Mill Pond Road;
* General Holmes Drive, Joyce Drive and Ross Smith Avenue;
* General Holmes Drive and Botany Road.

The projects are within adjacent area to the Sydney Airport and constrained by:
1) Obstacle limitation Service (OLS) to the east of Sydney Airport limiting the height of plant and equipment able to be used during construction;
2) Protection and adjustment of major utilities;
3) Coordination of rail possessions and airport east-west runway closures;
4) Coordination with ARTC will be required for works within the railway corridor.

The works for Airport North involves:
1) Widening O'Riordan Street from four lanes to six lanes between Robey Street and Bourke Road;
2) Converting sections of Robey Street and O'Riordan Street to complement the airport's reconfiguration of internal one-way circulation being installed to service the airport's domestic terminals;
3) Installing a wide footpath for pedestrains and cyclists;
4) Modifying the O'Riordan Street/Robey Street intersection and the O'Riordan Street/King Street Intersection;
5) Modifying the lane geometry on the approach to Joyce Drive from O'Riordan St;
6) Adjusting various major utilities and drainage structure.

A pre-tender meeting, including a site inspection will be held starting at 10.00am on Thursday 9 June 2016, at RMS office (71-79 Pyrmont Bridge Rd, Pyrmont). Attendance is a mandatory requirement for the submission of conforming tender.

Airport East is a Federally funded project (use this generic terminology for all Federally funded projects). This project is jointly / fully funded by the Australian Government and the Building Code 2013 applies to this project. The code is available at www.employment.gov.au/BuildingCode.

All tenderers must comply with NSW Government Code of Practice for Procurement

This is a Quality Assurance contract.

Tenders are invited from pre-qualified contractors with RMS under the National Prequalification Scheme at Category R5, B4/F100 or higher.
