The Specialist Health Service (SHS) provides strategic input on health to the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The SHS allows DFAT to source high quality technical advice to support health policy, strategic planning and health programming across the aid management cycle.
DFAT seeks an M&E specialist to provide ongoing support to the DFAT Health Sector Aid Team, Australian High Commission, Vanuatu. The opportunity is for short term inputs of up to 30 days in country and up to 30 days at the consultant’s home base in the first year, with the possibility of 1 year extensions to a maximum of 3 years. Inputs will include designing the overarching performance assessment framework including the completion of an Evaluability Assessment, an M&E system, reporting on program performance for the duration of the program and providing ongoing technical assistance and capacity building. The position would suit someone with practical experience in developing and implementing monitoring, evaluation and implementing frameworks in low and middle income countries. Expertise in health is desirable but not essential. Start date: June/July 2016
