Yarra Valley Waters strategic intent is to ensure delivery of water at a quality that is safe and adheres to regulatory standards. In order to reduce the risk of failing these guidelines, it has been decided to install secondary chlorination to areas of concern.

Secondary chlorinators are Yarra Valley Water owned chlorine injection devices that are strategically located within the drinking water supply network. Their purpose is to increase chlorine levels in areas where Melbourne Water’s disinfection is insufficient resulting in consistently low residuals.
