The Torquay North Children's Centre Project will deliver an integrated early childhood education and care facility that is fit for purpose, meets funding and regulatory requirements and provides a range of family and children's services for our growing community.

The overall budget for the Project, including design, construction fit-out and operational planning, is $6.775m. The key features of the new facility will include:
* A building that is sympathetic to the design and construction principles of other buildings and infrastructure with in the Community and Civic Precinct
* Environmentally sustainable design and construction
* Licensed rooms for kindergarten programs
* Shared licenced space for occasional care
* Multipurpose space for playgroups, parenting programs and other community uses
* Consulting rooms for maternal and child health and visiting health/social services
* Outdoor play spaces that are accessible for all abilities
* Carparking and landscaping

The Project incorporates both a capital and operational focus, with strong input from Early Years specialists on key aspects of the building design and requirements, particularly in relation to the 'integrated' model under which the centre will operate.

The successful Quantity Surveyor shall advise the Principal and the design team on project costs, prepare cost plans for different phases of the project, monitor the project costs throughout the project and assist in developing corrective actions to achieve delivery of the project within budget.
