The Office of Australian War Graves (OAWG) is part of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, and is responsible for the official commemoration of those whose deaths have been attributed to their war service.
Those veterans whose deaths have been accepted as war related are generally commemorated by means of an individual headstone, plaque at a grave site, in a Garden of Remembrance or at a crematorium and these commemorations are maintained in perpetuity by OAWG.
The purpose of this RFT is to engage a suitably qualified contractor to provide civil maintenance services of war graves to a high standard, befitting those whose deaths were attributed to their war service. The period of this contract will be for three (3) years unless varied or extended for further periods not exceeding twenty four (24) months.
The contractor will be expected to utilise OAWG asset data and information systems into work practices where possible. This data will allow for site and commemoration details to be available to the contractor and may also provide image capture for quality assurance and processing of payment for services. Adequate training will be provided as part of the induction contract mobilisation stage.
