Expression of Interest No. LGL-EOI-2016-03.

Lihir Gold Limited (LGL), a fully owned subsidiary of Newcrest Mining Ltd, through this EOI, intends to invite suitably qualified contractors and consultants to submit proposals for the delivery of structural refurbishment blasting and painting services. The services consist of:
* High pressure water blasting and mechanical cleaning of structural elements within the site, including columns, beams, handrails, floor grating, floor plate and mechanical plate work
* Inspection and testing of corroded items
* Repair of localised corrosion damage to individual steel members
* Replacement of steel members deemed beyond repair
* Replacement of structural bolting
* Abrasive blasting
* Painting and specialised coating application using spray and manual application methods
* Quality control of repairs, replacement and painting and coating.

LGL intends to let a contract for a fixed multi-year duration for provision of the above services. The successful contractor can expect to mobilise a workforce of approximately 20 personnel, including direct trades labour, supervision and support staff, along with sufficient equipment and material to execute the works at a productive rate. The equipment could include vehicles, cranes, elevating work platforms, blasting and painting equipment, rigging gear and structural fabrication equipment.

From these submissions, LGL will select candidates to participate in LGL's request for proposal (RFP) process. A full scope of work will be made available to those shortlisted by LGL and who are formally invited to bid on the services.

To be considered, interested parties are requested to respond to this EOI by no later than Monday 14 March 2016. However, it is at LGL's absolute discretion as to whether any late EOI will be accepted and LGL may request clarification or additional information from any applicant during the EOI application process.

All EOI must be submitted by 5.00 pm (local Lihir Island time (AEST)) on Monday 14 March 2016.

Interested parties to note:
LGL accepts no liability whatsoever for an EOI and pre-qualification questionnaire that are not received due to internet connectivity issues, transmission delays or errors.

LGL does not undertake to invite all applicants to participate in the RFP process.

In the RFP process, LGL will not bind itself to accept the lowest or any proposal submitted.

LGL will not be liable for any costs incurred in this EOI or preparing a proposal for this contract.
