Regional Procurement, on behalf of a total of nine councils participating in the Hunter Region Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery (WARR) Strategy is calling Tender # T231516HUN Collection, Transport and Recycling of Ferrous, Non-Ferrous and Mixed Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Metals and ULABs including Degassing of Refrigerators and Air-Conditioners.
Participating Councils are: Cessnock City; Dungog Shire; Lake Macquarie City; Maitland City; Muswellbrook Shire; City of Newcastle; Port Stephens; Singleton and Upper Hunter Shire.
The general Scope of Works includes the provision of services for the collection (sorting and loading), transport and recycling of stockpiled Ferrous (including refrigerator and air-conditioner degassing), Non Ferrous, Mixed Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Scrap Metals and ULABs. This includes responsibility for the removal of any contaminants such as glass and plastic.
The categories of materials to be collected, transported and recycled include:
A. (1) Ferrous Metals and (2) Refrigerator and Air Conditioner Degassing
B. Non Ferrous Metals
C. Used Lead Acid Batteries (ULABs)
D. Mixed Ferrous & Non Ferrous Metals
An electronic tender box is applicable to this tender. Tenderers are to note that in addition to the electronic tender upload it is a requirement that a single hard copy document is to be provided to Regional Procurement within 5 business days of tender close date.
