Tender Description
The project aim is to provide each Combat Brigade with suitable facilities to conduct HIET without the requirement to use live aircraft and therefore reduce the associated cost of maintaining an airmobile capability. HIET facilities will simulate elements of live aircraft training in order to satisfy current and future airborne roping and rappelling policy.
At the time of issuing this Invitation to Register Interest,it is anticipated that the HIET facilities will comprise:
(a) a single 22m high structural steel tower (6.4m by 5.2m plan dimension) with aircraft mock-ups attached on two faces; and
(b) ground based steel mock-up aircraft structures.
At the time of issuing this Invitation to Register Interest,the works for this project include the construction of HIET facilities at the following locations:
(c) Lavarack Barracks, Townsville QLD, and
(d) Gallipoli Barracks, Brisbane QLD.
The works will also include an option to construct HIET facilities at the following locations:
(e) Robertson Barracks, Darwin NT, and
(f) RAAF Edinburgh, Edinburgh Defence Precinct, Adelaide SA.
