Tender for the Supply & Construction of 430 Linear Metres of Concrete Footpaths

⁠⁠⁠Katherine Town Council invites Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for supply and construction of 430 linear metres of concrete footpaths. Tenderers are required to demonstrate their capacity, financial and technical capability for completing the project within the required timeframe, have had previous experience on similar sized projects and demonstrate a commitment to Work Health & Safety and environmentally sound principles

SCOPE OF WORKS:

Construct a 430m concrete footpath starting from an existing footpath at lot 2909 Casuarina St (nine (9) meters west of Gregory Court) and finishing at Martin Terrace, installing disabled/pedestrian crossovers where applicable.

Footpath Width 1500mm.
Footpath thickness 100mm.

Sub Base:
a. Excavate and remove any existing concrete.
b. Excavate all grass and soil to a depth of 75mm below natural level.
c. All excavated material shall be stored on site and used for reinstatement of edges.
d. In the event filling is required for levelling, crusher dust is to be used.

* Concrete:
Shall be 20/20mpa with reinforcing mesh F72.
NOTE - No pouring of concrete is to proceed without the approval of the superintendent.

* Paved Driveways:
The footpath is to abut the edge of the paved area forming part of the retaining edge of the pavers travel through bitumen driveways.

* Concrete Driveways:
The footpath is to abut the edge of the concrete driveway and be tied into the concrete driveway with 20mm dowel joints.

* Disable access/Pedestrian Crossovers:
Excavate and remove existing kerb at five (5) locations for disabled access/Pedestrian crossovers. Where applicable that footpaths are to abut guttering from the road pavement, the Australian standards for disabled access shall comply.

* Existing Footpaths:
The footpath is to abut any existing footpaths.

* Expansion Joints:
Connolly key joints are to be used for expansion joints in sections longer than 15m at the midway point of those segments.

* Footpath Levels:
On longitude section of footpath, the paths surface at its highest point shall be no more or no less than 25mm above the natural surface level. Cross fall sections, a 2% cross fall across the footpath towards the curb and guttering shall be allowed for in construction of the footpath.

* Finish Surface:
The final finish surface shall be "Broom Finished".

* Site Clean Up:
It is the responsibility of the contractor to utilise excavated spoil for the reinstatement of footpath edges, any excess material is to be removed from the site as part of this contract. Disposal location to be determined by the Superintendent.
