An opportunity exists for a suitable locally based community group, organisation or service to express interest in overseeing the functions at the Yarra Glen Memorial Hall and Reading Room, in partnership with Yarra Ranges Council. In addition, community groups, organisations or services are encouraged to consider opportunities to extend their own service provision at the facility and to leverage their service through volunteers. Services are required from 1 December 2015.

Interested community groups, organisations or services are invited to outline their capacity to provide the listed functions by following the guidelines provided in this document.

Whilst not mandatory, Council prefers to engage a locally based community group, organisation or service who already provides local community services and/or programs and/or activities which reflect local community need and contribute to community wellbeing, life long learning and volunteerism.

Successful applicants may be invited to formally tender to enter into a service agreement with Council.

The agreement will incorporate permission to manage and provide operational planning at the premises, in liaison with Council and current facility users. A service agreement will be granted from 1 December 2015 until 30 June 2017 with two extension options of a further three years each.
