Expressions of Interest: EMBL Australia Scientific Head & National Secretariat Office

⁠⁠⁠The EMBL Australia Council invites expressions of interest from prospective host Institutions for EMBL Australia that will appoint a Scientific Head and host the National Secretariat office.

It is expected that the proposed host institution have an active involvement in the activities of EMBL and EMBL Australia.

Respondents will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to provide resources by using existing funding streams or by demonstrating an ability to attract new funding streams.

Proposals should include completion of each of the following response template and a brief document outlining the following:
1. Indicate an interest in being the host institution for the secretariat and the scientific head.
2. Nominate the faculty, department, school or Institute which will house the secretariat and nominate the Scientific Head.
3. Explain why the nominees (institution and key individuals) are well qualified for the task.
4. Provide a credible plan for funding.

Responses should include:
a) Proposal
b) Completed templates with all items noted and/or commented on
c) Date(s) from which respondent is willing to assume responsibilities as Host Institution, Scientific Head, and Secretariat Services
d) CV of proposed Scientific Head
e) Outline of transition plans

Responses will be accepted until COB Monday 5 October 2015.

A Review Panel will be convened to assess responses and make recommendations to EMBL Australia Council meeting on 8 December 2015.
