Safe Work Australia invites suitably skilled and experienced Suppliers to provide an Expression of Interest to assess the risk level of 35 work activities to determine if a regulatory licensing intervention is required as a part of controlling the risk of serious workplace injury or fatality. The type of activities requiring an assessment include the operation of cranes, forklifts, hoists, elevating work platforms, concrete placing booms, reach stackers and pressure equipment. To undertake this assessment, the Supplier will use a decision making framework developed by Safe Work Australia.
Desired applicants should have (or access to other parties that can provide this information and knowledge):
* sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws including state and territory WHS and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation
* extensive experience and knowledge with WHS/OHS in workplaces including risk management principles and the hierarchy of control
* specific knowledge of the construction and/or mining sectors and their respective operating environments
* sound, practical understanding of the safe operation of cranes, forklifts, hoists, elevating work platforms, concrete placing booms, reach stackers, pressure equipment, and
* sound, practical understanding of dogging, rigging and scaffolding activities.
