Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The EMU and ICE rollinstock fleet disposal planning is being undertaken under the Operating Assets Division in order to identify the optimum transition and disposal option available to Queensland Rail to remove these fleets from service and dispose the rollingstock and inventory on hand.

This RFP is being issued for the provision of a technical advisor to assist determine the best value for money option available to Queensland Rail to remove and dispose the EMU and ICE fleets.  This recommendation will include analysis around disposal options and will be informed by:

* New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) supply outcomes - which include accommodating potential changes to the date and rate of supply of units. Units are currently planned to enter service between mid-2016 and late-2018,
* market sounding to determine market opportunities for disposal of Queensland Rails’ retiring urban rollingstock fleet,
* the positive and negative impacts of disposing fleet in varying quantities,
* revenues / costs / challenges / advantages / risk transfer / contract management requirements linked to the transition and disposal of each option considered.
