Parramatta Square Stage 3 (PS3): Archaeological Excavation and Salvage Early Works

⁠⁠⁠The $2 billion Parramatta Square development is one of the country's biggest urban renewal projects and is central to the vision of Parramatta City Council to build Australia's next great city. Located in the geographic and demographic heart of metropolitan Sydney, Parramatta has a scale and mix of commercial, health and education facilities befitting its recently acquired status as Sydney's dual CBD.

Tenders are invited from licensed, qualified and suitably experienced contractors to undertake the Archaeological Excavation and Salvage Early Works at 153 Macquarie Street, Parramatta for Parramatta City Council.

The proposed scope of works is to take place within the Parramatta Square precinct and is as follows:
* Removal of all existing concrete slabs, kerb and gutters, asphalt paving, concrete roadways, footpath paving and other remains of the Former Australia Post Building in the PS3 site boundaries;
* Provide suitable machinery (excavator/bobcat) for strategic removal of spoil for a staged investigation of European and Aboriginal archaeological heritage artefacts;
* Provide site support and assistance to the heritage excavation consultant(s)/company(s);
* Provide suitable machinery for excavation and removal of spoil from site;
* Connection of temporary services, including power, water and fire hydrants for the period of work;
* Supply of necessary site sheds, ablution block, storage and offices;
* Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site including, environmental controls, rubbish removal, cleaning and maintaining the site generally;
* Suitable traffic control (if required) for removal of spoil and the stage shutdown of Leigh Place;
* A suitable rate for preliminaries, overheads and margin.

The Tender price is for a fixed lump sum.

Note: There will be two site inspections held on Friday 31 July 2015 and Tuesday 4 August 2015, commencing at 10am, meeting a Council representative in Civic Place Car Park near 153 Macquarie Street, Parramatta. Attendance at one site inspection is compulsory.

A final decision will be made on this Tender by Wednesday 26 August 2015.
