Expression of Interest Lease of Cafe Space at Geelong Library Heritage Centre

⁠⁠⁠A cafe in the new Geelong Library Heritage Centre will attract the patronage of the users of this new state of the art facility and is well located in the Geelong Cultural Precinct in which it sits. The Precinct includes the highly regarded Geelong Gallery, the very popular Geelong Performing Arts Centre and the Old Courthouse Building (home of Courthouse Youth Arts Inc. and Back to Back Theatre Company).

The Geelong Library Heritage Centre is located in a part of Central Geelong with very strong strategic connections. It is positioned within a five minute walk of well over 10,000 students and workers. The building sits in a city block with close proximity to the Government Services Building and City Hall as well as being adjacent to the Gordon Institute with nearly 900 staff and thousands of students on site. The Geelong Library Heritage Centre is also on the walk path from the Geelong Station to the hospital precinct where nearly a third of all Central Geelong workers are located.

The City seeks expressions of interest from suitable applicants to operate the cafe at the Geelong Library Heritage Centre with construction scheduled for completion later this year.
