Request for Proposal Provison of Pharmacy Services to Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre

⁠⁠⁠The Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre (AWRCC) will be, when commissioned, an integrated centre built on the grounds of Albury Hospital and will consolidate and expand existing public and private cancer services in the Albury-Wodonga region. The AWRCC will include:

* 30 inpatient beds;
* A 30-chair day chemotherapy facility;
* 17 medical and allied health consulting rooms;
* An education and training facility;
* A ‘Wellness Centre’;
* 2 paediatric treatment chairs (Part of AWH Inpatient Unit);
* A PET/CT scanner facility; and
* A brachytherapy service for the region.

It is expected that the AWRCC will begin commissioning in early April 2016. AWRCC has decided to seek proposals via a Request for Proposal process from suitably qualified and experienced pharmacy service providers to provide a comprehensive pharmacy service including the supply of compounded chemotherapy to AWRCC. The object of this request for proposal (RFP) is to seek tenders from suitably qualified and experienced hospital pharmacy service providers (Respondents) for the provision of pharmacy services (the Services) at AWRCC.

The objectives AWRCC seeks to achieve through the provision of the Services are to: a) support the best possible level of clinical services to patients through safe and cost-effective medicine use; b) support the clinical activities of AWRCC’s medical practitioners, nursing staff and other health professionals; c) contribute to the management of clinical risk and quality standards; and d) contain and wherever possible reduce the overall cost of the pharmaceuticals and pharmacy services to the AWRCC.
