The Wimmera CMA is proud to support our local Landcare communities through delivery of the State Government’s 2015-16 Victorian Landcare Grants.
Grants of up to $15,000 (GST exclusive) will assist Wimmera community groups to undertake projects to protect and restore their local environment and preserve the diversity of native flora and fauna in the Wimmera landscape, contributing to outcomes in Victoria’s interest.
As well as funding on-ground works, the Victorian Landcare Grants process also provides maintenance grants to existing groups and start-up grants to new groups.
Victorian Landcare Grants will support:
* On-ground works (eg. pest plant and animal control, fencing, revegetation) that link local priorities to Wimmera Regional Catchment Strategy priorities
* Capacity building activities for land stewardship and on-ground change
* Projects that promote innovation through experimental trials and pilot programs
* Start-up funding (for new groups & networks) and maintenance grants to ensure a strong Landcare base across the State
* Opportunities to promote Landcare and increase membership and volunteer numbers
